Corrupted Creatures Guide

Training the Slayer skill requires players to learn about an extensive list of monsters that they accept missions to hunt down and kill.

Each has different requirements to account for, and some of the most challenging for players with a high Slayer level are the Corrupted Creatures found in Sophanem’s slayer dungeon. So, if you have a Slayer level of at least 88, here is everything you need to know to start hunting your Corrupte Creature quarries.

Key Info Up Front

  • Creatures with Corrupted Variants: Scorpion, Worker, Scarab, Kalhpite Guardian, Kalphite Marauder, Lizard, Dust Devil
  • Slayer Level Range: 88-103
  • Location: Sophanem Slayer Dungeon
  • Required ItemFeathers of Ma’at
  • Quest Givers: Morvran, Laniakea, Kuradal, Sumona

Corrupted Creatures Overview

Corrupted Creatures are high-level Slayer targets only found in the slayer dungeon in the southwest region of Sophanem. To access the dungeon, players must have at least Slayer Level 88 and complete the quest Ichtlarin’s Little Helper.

However, before you can kill a Corrupted Creature, you need a Feather of Ma’at. As long as a player has a Feather of Ma’at in their inventory, when a Corrupted Creature’s hit points hit zero, one of the feathers will be consumed to kill it fully.

Thankfully, you have a handful of options for farming Feathers of Ma’at. The most convenient method is purchasing them from the Menaphite Guard, which can be found right next to the entrance to the slayer dungeon.

He runs a Slayer supply store that carries 1,000 Feathers of Ma’at at a time that are sold for 1,500 coins a piece. Another 50 feathers can be purchased from the Goods of Menaphos store for the same price.

Another source of Feathers of Ma’at if you’ve completed the quest Jack of Spades can be found in the Shifting Tombs minigame. In the minigame, players can find chests that have a chance to drop up to 25 Feathers of Ma’at at a time.

This makes it a great way to farm feathers while working on leveling other skills, especially if you can’t afford to purchase the feathers instead. A decent method to get Feathers of Ma’at if you run out at the slayer dungeon is to kill the slayer boss, The Magister, who has a chance to drop a stack of 100 when he is killed.

Finally, you can also purchase Feathers of Ma’at from the Grand Exchange for an average price of 1,793 coins. However, I only recommend doing so if you need more than you can get from shopping with NPCs since they are more expensive this way.

So, once you get some Feathers of Ma’at, you’ll be ready to start hunting Corrupted Creatures. You don’t need Slayer quests to kill Corrupted Creatures, but I highly recommend trying to get one to get additional rewards for your time investment.

Slayer quests that target Corrupted Creatures have the highest chance of being given by Sumona to the north of Pollnivneach, so I recommend getting them from her. However, they can also be provided by Laniakea, Kuradal, or Morvran.

Another general note about killing Corrupted Creatures is that when you kill one, there is a slight chance that a friendly cat named Katarina will spawn near you. She is a dark green cat with light green eyes and glowing lines over her body.

Once she appears, she stays for around thirty seconds. Talking to her is required to complete the achievement of Feline Good, although dialogue with her serves no other purpose. A fun detail, however, is that if you equip a Chatspeak Amulet while talking to her, you’ll have access to the additional dialogue.

Corrupted Scorpion

Corrupted Scorpion

  • Slayer Level Required: 88
  • Combat Level Required: 98

Corrupted Scorpions are level 101 monsters with a model similar to traditional Runescape scorpions. However, they instead have a green and light blue coloring. If you plan on fighting one, you should prioritize using water spells, as they are weak to it.

You can also use the Inquisitor Staff if you have one to gain a damage bonus during the combat. If you don’t want to use magic Corrupted Scorpions are weaker to melee damage than ranged. They also don’t have any immunities, so feel free to use any damage effects at your disposal.

Drops

Corrupted Scorpions do have a chance to drop Charms usable with the Summoning skill. They have a 55% chance to drop no Charms, a 31% chance to drop a Crimson Charm, a 9% chance to drop a Golden Charm, a 4% chance to drop a Green Charm, and only a 1% chance to drop a Blue Charm.

They also have access to the Rare drop table shared between the most dangerous monsters across Runescape. Their main drops, in order of likelihood, are as follows:

  • 1,250x Coins – 30%
  • 2,000x Coins – 17%
  • 2x Medium Plated Adamant Salvage – 11%
  • 3x Adamantite Stone Spirit – 11%
  • 6x Corrupted Magic Logs – 11%
  • 2x Noted Earth Talisman – 6%
  • 6x Gold Stone Spirit – 6%
  • 1x Super Attack Potion (2) – 5%
  • 1x Medium Spiky Rune Salvage – 3%

Corrupted Scorpions also have a tertiary drop table that can make killing them even more worthwhile. Objects on this table, however, will always drop on the ground upon killing it regardless of your auto-loot settings, so make sure to keep an eye out for them.

However, some of these drops haven’t had a drop chance released by the developers of Runescape, resulting in the community instead rating them on a scale from Common to Very Rare. They are:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Very Rare

Corrupted Scarab

Corrupted Scarab

  • Slayer Level Required: 91
  • Combat Level Required: 101

The Corrupted Scarab is a massive green-blue beetle. They have a weakness to fire spells that can make killing them go almost twice as fast as using melee attacks and twice as fast if you prefer to use ranged.

However, it is also weaker to magic overall, regardless of whether or not you can cast fire spells. Corrupted Scarabs are also vulnerable to the Inquisitor Staff and the Keris while not having any immunity.

Drops

Corrupted Scarabs have a chance to drop Summoning Charms every time they are killed, although they have a 56% chance to drop none.

While I don’t recommend trying to farm Corrupted Scarabs for Charms, they have a 31% chance to drop Crimson Charms, a 9% chance for Gold Charms, 5% for Green Charms, and 1% for Blue Charms, which can be a nice additional drop. However, they also have access to the Rare drops table on top of the below Main falls:

  • 1,250x Coins – Common
  • 2,500x Coins – Common
  • 20x Rune Arrowheads – Common
  • 1x Uncut Ruby – Common
  • 3x Potato Cactus – Uncommon
  • 1x Super Restore Potion (2) – Uncommon
  • 1x Large Plated Rune Salvage – Rare
  • 1x Tiny Spiky Rune Salvage – Rare

They also have a relatively large table for Tertiary drops that looks similar to Corrupted Scorpions.

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare

Corrupted Lizard

Corrupted Lizard

  • Slayer Level Required: 94
  • Combat Level Required: 105

Corrupted Lizards do not have as many spawns in the dungeon as their Lizard or Scarab counterparts, but they reward a bit more experience per kill and have solid main drops. They also have a weakness in stabbing weapons instead of magic, making them a much better target to farm for non-magic users.

If you don’t have a stabbing weapon, you are best off using another melee weapon, followed by range and magic. They also do not have any immunities and qualify for the extra damage boost from the Terrasaur maul.

Drops

Corrupted Lizards also have access to the same Rare drop table that most high-level creatures share and have a 45% chance of dropping Summoning Charms. Of that 45% chance, Crimson Charms make up 30%, Gold Charms 9%, Green Charms 5%, and Blue Charms 1%. Its main drops and their chances can also be found below:

  • 2,000x Coins – Common
  • 3,000x Coins – Common
  • 1x Amulet of Power – Common
  • 14x Gold Stone Spirit – Common
  • 8x Corrupted Magic Logs – Common
  • 1x Coconut – Uncommon
  • 1x Tiny Spiky Rune Salvage – Uncommon

They also share the tertiary drops table of the Corrupted Scarabs. This means their tertiary table is:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare

Corrupted Dust Devil

Corrupted Dust Devil

  • Slayer Level Required: 97
  • Combat Level Required: 107

Corrupted Dust Devils are deceptively cute enemies that are small creatures with massive mouths and horns. They are fragile to crushing damage with melee, ranged, and then magic following in last.

However, it also qualifies for the damage boost from the Terrasaur Maul without having any status immunities. Since they are classified as Dust Devils, they also qualify for the benefits of wearing a Mask of Dust or Helm of Devilry if you have either one floating around.

Drops

Corrupted Dust Devils have access to the Rare drop table, and similar Summoning Charms drop rates. Crimson Charms have a 31% drop rate, Gold Charms have 9%, Green charms have 4%, and Blue Charms have the remaining 1%.

However, Corrupted Dust Devils carry a unique table of main drops compared to the Corrupted Creatures that you’ll have killed up until now. Their main slides are:

  • 2,000x Coins – Common
  • 3,500x Coins – Common
  • 60x Adamant Javelin – Common
  • 8x Adamantite Stone Spirit – Uncommon
  • 4x Swamp Toad – Uncommon
  • 1x Water Battestaff – Uncommon
  • 2x Water Orb – Uncommon
  • 1-2x Large Plated Rune Salvage – Rare

Corrupted Dust Devils also share most of their Tertiary drop chart with other Corrupted Creatures. However, they do bring the addition of Long Bones, which are found in the list below:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Long Bone – 0.25%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare

Corrupted Kalphite Marauder

Corrupted Kalphite Marauder

  • Slayer Level Required: 100
  • Combat Level Required: 110

Corrupted Kalphite Marauders are large insectoids with colorful coloring akin to all Corrupted Creatures that use ranged attacks. The Kalphite Marauders, however, are weakest when defending against attacks with arrows.

If you don’t want to use hands, opt to use magic before melee weapons. The Corrupted Kalphite Marauders also qualify for the bonus damage applied when using the Keris or Hexhunter Bow, so bring those along if you have access to them to make things go quicker.

They also don’t have any immunities but deal poison damage with their attacks, so bringing some Antipoison is a good idea.

Drops

When it comes to drops, Corrupted Kalphite Marauders have a slightly lower drop rate of Charms estimated to be around 1%. This puts their drop rates for Crimson Charms at 35.5%, Gold Charms at 10%, Green Charms at 3%, and Blue at 1.5%. They also have access to the standard Rare drop table as well as the Main drops below:

  • 1,000x Coins – Common
  • 2,000x Coins – Common
  • 2,500x Coins – Common
  • 4x Goat Horn Dust – Common
  • 1x Coconut – Uncommon
  • 1x Large Bladed Rune Salvage – Uncommon
  • 1x Onyx Bolt Tips – Uncommon
  • 1x Prayer Potion (3) – Uncommon
  • 1x Summoning Focus – Uncommon

The Corrupted Kalphite Marauder’s Tertiary drop list is identical to most other Corrupted Creatures found below:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare

Corrupted Kalphite Guardian

Corrupted Kalphite Guardian

  • Slayer Level Required: 100
  • Combat Level Required: 110

Corrupted Kalphite Guardians are the melee counterpart of the Corrupted Kalphite Marauder. Rather than being weak to ranged attacks, they are more vulnerable to earth spells followed by other magic attacks, melee attacks, and, finally, ranged attacks.

Their attacks are also poisonous, but they qualify for the bonus damage from the Inquisitor Staff and Keris to get the most out of your attacks.

Drops

The drop rates for the Corrupted Kalphite Guardian are the same as the Corrupted Kalphite Marauder. This means that their main drops list is as follows:

  • 1,000x Coins – Common
  • 2,000x Coins – Common
  • 2,500x Coins – Common
  • 4x Goat Horn Dust – Common
  • 1x Coconut – Uncommon
  • 1x Large Bladed Rune Salvage – Uncommon
  • 1x Onyx Bolt Tips – Uncommon
  • 1x Prayer Potion (3) – Uncommon
  • 1x Summoning Focus – Uncommon

Their Tertiary drops are also the same, with the following items and rarity:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare

Corrupted Worker

Corrupted Worker

  • Slayer Level Required: 103
  • Combat Level Required: 113

Corrupted Workers are zombie-like humanoids whose heads are shrouded in a thick cloud of green fog. Their bodies are dark green and rocky in appearance and have the defining light green lines of Corrupted Creatures.

They are weakest against water spells, so use those if you can. Otherwise, it would help if you used any other magic first, followed by melee attacks and then ranged attacks. They also apply for bonuses from the Inquisitor Staff, which can help make farming them go much faster.

Drops

When it comes to drops, Corrupted Workers have the same access to Rare tables as others, as well as similar drop rates for Summoning Charms. They come with a 32% chance to drop Crimson Charms, 8% chance for Gold Charms, 4% chance to drop Green Charms, and 1% for Blue Charms. However, they do have a much more unique Main drops table.

  • 2,500x Coins – 52%
  • 3,500x Coins – 52%
  • 40x Noted Soda Ash – 22%
  • 2x Noted Air Orb – 12%
  • 5x Noted Red Dragonhide Vambraces – 6%
  • 1x Air Battlestaff – 5%
  • 1x Large Plated Rune Salvage – 3%

However, the Tertiary drop rates for the Corrupted Works are similar to most other Corrupted Creatures. This gives the creature the following tertiary drops:

  • Sealed Hard Clue Scroll – 0.4%
  • Essential to the Crossing – 0.2%
  • Spirit Sapphire – 0.2%
  • Spirit Emerald – 0.15%
  • Spirit Ruby – 0.1%
  • Khopesh of the Kharidian – 0.0067%
  • Vital Spark – Uncommon
  • The Magister’s Journal 1-5 – Rare
  • Corrupted Gem – Very Rare
  • Starved Ancient Effigy – Very Rare
